Job search
Google is searching for some 2,000 people across the world to join its ranks as it pushes into new markets.
According to Reuters, there are 2,076 positions available at the search giant which has reportedly recently been offering some members of its workforce incredibly lucrative offers in a bid to stop them defecting its rivals such as Facebook as well as giving all its employees a 10 percent pay rise.
The news service reckons job opportunities are up around six-fold compared with March 2009, perhaps sparked by the Google's company shopping spree, with 20 acquisitions bolstering its head count to over 23,300 employees in September.
A Google spokesman reportedly said: "We've been ramping up our hiring and the number of open jobs over the course of the last year."
Despite dominating the search market, Google is on the lookout for new ways to develop its other branches such as its Android software plus display advertising and is consequently trying to outpace Facebook and Apple when it comes to getting the best engineers and cash for its services.
As well as its moves to retain its workers Reuters believes the firm is hiring for a diverse range of job titles, half of which are for engineers and sales roles.
Perhaps in response to its recent legal wrangling over Street View and offering its service in China, there are apparently around 50 legal jobs up for grabs at Google. There are also reportedly about 50 positions in China, including around 6 recruiter roles, perhaps indicating that Google intends to stay in the region despite past tiffs with its authorities.
