Pegatron and Unihan, two new divisions

ASUS has now completed its transition to three distinct companies. In addition to ASUS, two new companies named Pegatron and Unihan complete the new ASUS trio.

ASUS as a company will now focus solely on the manufacture of computer systems and notebooks.

Pegatron, which surprisingly isn't the name of a Transformer, will focus on component manufacturing such as motherboards and graphics cards.

Unihan, the third company, will be handling all chassis and sub-component manufacturing.

Sound straightforward enough? If not, fear not as all three companies will continue to carry the ASUS brand and you'll likely not notice the difference. Those who will however are the ASUS employees. Workers at the old ASUS have had their previous pension plans paid out and must start their new pension plans from scratch. Ouch.

I think the interesting thing is that they canned all of the pension plans for the employees - so they start again with that, no doubt a tax break but not exactly an ethical way to operate :(

Can the employees not just put their whole previous pension plan into their new one?
If so, then as far as I can see, they lose nothing.
just read that the product names would still bear the Asus branding. Glad to hear that as I wouldnt like to have a Petragon P5K-E :D
