Details of the scheme
These are the essentials of the scheme as provided by ITACS.
For those ex system builders feeling the impact of lost footfall, custom and opportunity the ITACS deal:
- Introduces fixed, defined producer compliance costs;
- Gives opportunity to make money out of WEEE you collect/take back; and.
- Provides you with a reason for re-evaluating why you stopped.
For registered producers:
- Transfer to the WeeeCare PCS scheme under the terms of our deal by 15/10/08;
- Save £140 off WeeeCare PCS Membership fee;
- Eliminate WEEE transportation costs with free collection* by WeeeCare;
- Receive £160* per tonne of any domestic WEEE collected; and
- Cap your variable recycling charge-back on obligated WEEE at £27.75 per tonne.
For those non-compliant producers:
- Get legal and register under our deal before the non-compliance unit radar tracks you down.
For non-producer retailers operating in-store WEEE take back:
- Join the WeeeCare retailer scheme ITACS deal for free;
- Eliminate WEEE transportation costs with free collection*; and
- Receive £160* per tonne of any domestic WEEE collected.
For retailers registered with Valpak distributor take back scheme:
- Join the WeeeCare retailer scheme ITACS deal for free;
- Save £400 (<£1M turnover) on Valpak registration fee;
- Improve customer relations and add WEEE collection/in-store take back to your services; and
- Receive £160* per tonne of any domestic WEEE collected.
For independents not yet ITACS subscription members:
- Sign up to membership at www.itacs.org.uk/join/ NOW;
- Itacs will confirm your membership and issue your Membership ID by e-mail and instruct you on how to pay your £25 ITACS subscription;
- You will receive a Membership Registration Document for signature and return;
- You will be required to quote your Membership ID when joining our WeeeCare Deal; and
- The deadline for new membership on-line applications for those who are already registered producers wishing to switch to WeeeCare PCS membership deal is 12 noon Tuesday 14/10/08.
*Subject to minimum of 300kg per consignment collection.
