Inphi Corporation, a leading supplier of precision analog components for computing and communication systems, announced today that Ron Torten has been appointed to the new position of vice president of worldwide sales.
Reporting directly to Inphi’s President and Chief Executive Officer Young Sohn, Torten assumes responsibility for the company’s entire sales organization, which includes an extensive network of direct and independent sales organizations, manufacturer’s representatives and distributors in North America, Europe and Asia.
"Ron is a seasoned executive with broad industry knowledge, leadership skills and business relationships," said Young Sohn, Inphi’s President and CEO.
"He will be the driving force in executing our worldwide sales strategy, which includes a major emphasis on continuing to strengthen our world-class sales team. Torten, with more than 10 years experience in executive and general management positions, joins Inphi from NemeriX where he was chief executive officer. Before his work at NemeriX, Torten was vice president, worldwide materials at Agilent Technologies where he was responsible for $1.3B in spending for Agilent’s Semiconductor Products Group. Prior to that, he worked as vice president and general manager for the Networking and Entertainment Division of Agere Systems, and with Quantum Corporation, where he served in a variety of product marketing and supply chain positions.
Torten holds a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, and a masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Davis.
