No surprises here. With the latest-generation Intel Skylake CPU at the helm, the 2016 Gigabyte Brix leads the way with regards to mini-PC performance. The single-threaded gains are minimal, yet in multi-threaded scenarios Skylake's architectural enhancements do provide a healthy increase in benchmark results.
The video-encoding HandBrake test tasks all available cores, and with this workload the new Brix is found to be up to 32 per cent quicker than last year's model.
