Benchmarks: system and storage
PCMark gives a good general indication of performance across CPU, GPU, memory and storage-related workloads. The results demonstrate the Intel Compute Stick has about 40-50 per cent of the overall system performance of Haswell ULV mini PCs. While that may not seem like much it's actually a solid result considering the Compute Stick retails for Ā£130.
The performance of the eMMC storage isn't quite up to SSD standards but it is still responsive and significantly better than a mechanical hard drive. This is clearly indicated in the Combined 4K read and writes with a queue depth of 32 where the Intel Compute Stick leaves the HDD-equipped Zotac Zbox biting the dust.
The main problem for most users will be the limited 32GB capacity rather than speed issues but, helpfully, users can add up to 128GB of additional storage through the microSD card slot.
