UT2003, X², Quake III

The benchmark wagon keeps on rollin' with X² - The Threat.

The test resolution of 1024x768 forces the XPCs to bunch in. The 9200-like onboard graphics still stomp all over the i865G's Extreme Graphics 2. ATI has gotten something right in this design.

Here's an interesting test. It's a bot match run at 800x600. Bot matches place more of the load on the subsystem than the graphics element. This tests the onboard video's strength in a different way. The Radeon 9100 IGP lets the game flow - it has enough grunt such that it doesn't restrict the benchmark badly, something that can't be said about the i865G's. Still, overall bandwidth matters as the 9100 IGP-powered XPC falls over 10FPS behind its closest competitor when run with a discrete card.

Quake III summarises all of the commentary shown on the last couple of pages into a neat graph. Slower than the its main stablemate with a discrete card but far better performance from the integrated video.
