Don't let the size of the Brix Pro fool you. With a Core i7-4770R under the hood, it offers a level of CPU performance that would put most full-size systems to shame. The single-threaded PiFast result is similar to what we'd expect from a stock-clocked Core i7-4770K.

Multi-core workloads can trip up other small systems that come with fewer cores and lower frequencies. No such problems for the Brix Pro, as the i7-4770R will happily do 3.5GHz when all four cores/eight threads are stressed.

Putting all that CPU power to good use, our HandBrake benchmark transcodes a large 4K video clip into an Android tablet-friendly format. Close to 40 frames per second is mighty impressive for a system of this size. As far as CPU performance is concerned, the Brix Pro is making Intel's own NUC look like a children's toy.
