Benchmarks: Power Consumption
It was inevitable that an overclocked Core i5-4670K partnered with an overclocked GeForce GTX 770 would race through the performance benchmarks, but power, temperature and noise might serve up some interesting results. So far, there's nothing out of the ordinary when idle, with Scan's system drawing a modest 50 watts from the wall.
Apply maximum load to the CPU (defined as a 10-minute stint of Prime95 across all cores) and things begin to heat up. As a consequence of the overclock, worst-case 2D power consumption jumps right the way up to 187 watts.
Similarly, the GPU overclock has an impact, too. System-wide power consumption while gaming rises to 293 watts.
