Benchmarks: Noise

The PowerGlide Extreme keeps power consumption down and temperatures are reasonable, but the noise created by the machine can be off-putting. The idle reading is far from loud, but it's worth noting that this system doesn't sit on the floor or out of the way - it's right in front of your face and it's that close proximity that makes the user aware of every sound.

And noise can be a problem. With the CPU under maximum load, the small internal fan shifts into overdrive and the system becomes quite loud. Again, the fact that the noise is right in your face makes it quite distracting.

It's a similar scenario when the GPU is in full swing, too. During gaming, the PowerGlide Extreme becomes loud.
