Benchmarks: Noise

The Fusion Whisper Mini was never going to be silent, but it is very, very quiet. When idle, the PC lets out little more than a faint hum; you know it's there when you're sat next to it, but from a few feet away you'd be hard pushed to tell whether it's on or off.

Apply maximum load to the CPU, and the combination of the GELID Tranquillo cooler and a sound-dampening chassis help keep the rise in noise down to an absolute minimum.

We didn't get a chance to test Gainward GTX 560 Ti Phantom as a standalone product, but perhaps we should have done as it cools really well while keeping suitably quiet.

In this configuration, the Fusion Whisper Mini can play high-quality games while creating hardly any noise. It is for the most part lovely and quiet, but it's also let down by the frequent sound of the internal hard disk. If truly quiet computing is what you're after, the SSD upgrade is a must.
