Benchmarks: Power Consumption

The idle power is reasonable for a high-end machine.

Remember how we spoke about the 1.4V required to get the Core i7 3930K to 4.5GHz? The voltage is noisome as far as power consumption is concerned, and this Scan machine pulls an extra 135W over and above the 3XS GTK SLI when running all-core Prime95. Such CPU-centric power-draw puts stress on the cooling, naturally.

And full-out gaming power-draw is also higher than the GTK SLI's, but just look how much juice a system with two GTX 580s pulls!
