Benchmarks: GPU

The 1,920x1,080 gaming numbers are undeniably impressive, though no more so than the comparison Scan 3XS GTK SLI machine that's also equipped with two pre-overclocked GTX 560 Ti GPUs.

Our benchmarks are perhaps overly reliant on the GPU, with the CPU playing a much smaller part, but all that Core i7 3930K power isn't overtly telling here. Based on this selection of three gaming benchmarks, which may not be indicative performance in other titles, a 4.8GHz Core i5 2500K is plenty good enough.

Appreciating the starring role the GPUs play in games, we'd advise those looking for the biggest gaming bang-for-buck to use either a Core i5 2500K or Core i7 2600K and, with the same budget as this reviewed machine, opt for two GeForce GTX 580s instead.
