The pure grunt of a 3.4GHz Core 2 Quad means that it wins the single-threaded test rather easily.

But the dual-threaded 7-zip - where we compress 58 files into one archive - runs at about the same speed. A faster hard drive helps here.

Should you have an application that can load up all the chips' execution cores, and they're few and far between for consumers, then the ARBICO's 3.4GHz quad-core chip is over twice as fast.
