Due to the fact that it takes an inordinate amount of time for the system to complete POST. it's not surprising that the Scan system is the slowest of the bunch to boot. Scan could quite easily improve this by disabling the unused myriad of additional disk controllers which have no disks attached to them.
As mentioned on the previous page, the optical test utility has changed so we don't currently have any comparative numbers. We can however report that the optical drive on this machine is rated at 16x but actually achieves a speed of less than that in our test, with the drive performing at an average speed of 9.78x, and a maximum of 12.54x. The time taken to run the test was 9.57 minutes.
