Though 3rd Gen Ryzen is an improvement in the IPC (instructions per clock) department, Intel still holds a healthy lead when it comes to single-thread throughput. But Ryzen has always been about multi-threaded potential, and when you put all 12 cores to work, the R9 3900X sets the benchmarks alight. A Cinebench R15 score of 3,323 is superlative, and well in excess of similarly-priced machines outfitted with an Intel Core i9-9900K.

Given the amount of cores available at the 3XS Vengeance RTX Ti Fluid's disposal, our traditional CPU suite isn't best suited to showcasing the system's capabilities. For a direct comparison with other retail CPUs, we can confirm the Scan PC scores 7,459 in Cinebench R20 (vs. 4,978 for a stock i9-9900K) and 149s in Blender, a 30 per cent improvement over the i9-9900K.
