Benchmarks: Noise
A small, powerful PC that runs cool must be annoyingly loud, right? Wrong. We consider a sub-30dB reading to be bordering on silent, while a sub-40dB reading can be deemed reasonably quiet.
We're impressed by the results, but it's worth noting that Corsair's marketing materials need to be taken with a pinch of salt. The manufacturer states that One "is quieter than a whisper and virtually inaudible in any environment." It is an impressively composed machine, particularly when you consider the hardware inside, but in our experience the gentle hum of the internal fans is audible at all times in a quiet room. The hum becomes more noticeable under loud. Though never off-putting, it's worth bearing in mind if you're hoping to get as close to silent as possible.
