Further strengthening the DS414j's appeal is a very high level of efficiency for a four-bay unit. Our use of NAS-optimised WD Red hard disks no doubt helps, but the results are impressive nonetheless. The fully-populated box draws 31W under load, and after a user-defined period of inactivity, the drives enter standby to reduce power draw to as little as 13W.
