Our drive-torturing Iometer test acts as a reminder that the 840 EVO is very much a consumer drive. Our enterprise-orientated workload assaults the drive with 4KB transfers in a random spread, with 50 per cent read/write distribution at a queue depth of 32. This, clearly, isn't what the 840 EVO is designed for, yet the drive still copes reasonably well.
