Iomega's ix4-300d gets off to a strong start in our Iometer benchmarks. When configured in RAID 5, the Marvell-powered NAS manages to hit read and write speeds of 95MB/s and 70MB/s, respectively. The ix4-300d is unable to match the Intel-powered Qnap TS-469 Pro, but the gap in performance isn't as big as anticipated - particularly when you consider that the Qnap costs almost £100 more without any pre-installed drives.
