Benchmarks: Iometer
There are two dual-bay NAS solutions in our line up; the £120 Shuttle Omninas KD20 and the £200 Thecus N2200XXX. The latter, armed with a pricier 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor, clearly offers superior performance but Shuttle does well to get mid-range results out of its budget ARM-based 0.75GHz chip.
The numbers we're seeing are almost perfectly in line with the company's quoted read and write speeds of 75MB/s and 55MB/s, respectively, though we did see performance dip when dealing with larger transfers.
