Perhaps it was an issue with our pre-production sample, but the Vertex 3 - despite being one of the fastest 2.5in drives in our line up - struggled to stretch its legs in PCMark's simulated real-world benchmarks.

No such issues with Crucial's m4, though. The 128GB drive delivers excellent results via a SATA 6Gbps interface, and attaching a second in a RAID 0 configuration results in chart-topping performance.
