Benchmark: PCMark Vantage
Now here's a surprise. Given the Torqx 2's strong sequential throughput, we were expecting the drive to deliver middle-of-the-pack results in PCMark's simulated real-world benchmarks.
What we get instead are lacklustre results across the board. The Torqx 2 is still significantly quicker than a hard-disk, of course, but it's the slowest SSD on show (by some margin in certain scenarios) and there's no ignoring the fact that there are considerably quicker SATA 3Gbps drives available at around the same price.
£160 for a 128GB Patriot Torqx 2 or £160 for a 120GB OCZ Vertex 2? It's a no-brainer, we reckon.
