Benchmarks: Power Consumption

There is a benefit to having just a single disk. Buffalo's LinkStation Pro manages to keep power consumption down to 10W when idle, and that figure rises to just 13W when writing data to the drive.

With only one drive, the LinkStation Pro is suitably quiet, too. The unit's built-in fan is barely audible, but the frequent churning of the hard disk could become distracting in a very quiet room.
