Crank up the workload with a queue depth of 32, and Iometer reveals that the SandForce controller is king when it comes to numerous input/output operations per second.

Somewhat surprisingly, the 64GB Crucial C300 continually scores less when hooked up to the supposedly-quicker SATA 6Gbps interface. It seems the Intel controller is more efficient than the Marvell.

Comparing SSD to HDD, the Corsair F80 is an astonishing 25,085 per cent quicker under this demanding workload than a 1TB hard disk. Double-up in RAID and the F80s can increase that margin to a whopping 46,146 per cent.

In case there was ever any doubt; SSDs are superior to traditional HDDs in practically every aspect other than one; capacity.
