Benchmark: Crystal Disk Mark
Putting daylight between the SSDs and HDDs, CrystalDiskMark's 4K benchmark uses a queue depth of 32 to repeatedly transfer very small files.
Carrying out the process on traditional hard disks is brutal and delivers ultra-slow results. Pairing a couple of hard disks in RAID 0 appears to help read performance, but SSDs reign supreme.
Which SSD out of those on show? CrystalDiskMark favours the Crucial C300 when it comes to single-disk performance, but it's worth pointing out that this particular benchmark is renowned for not playing nice with SandForce controllers.
