Memory bandwidth, latency, and HEXUS.PiFast
| Sisoft Sandra 2009 SP2 (15.72) - float buffered | ||
|---|---|---|
| Corsair DDR3-1,600 CL8 6GB DOM | Crucial DDR3-1,066 CL7 6GB | Crucial DDR3-1,333 CL9 3GB |
| 26.89 | 19.41 | 19.92 |
The higher memory speed of the Corsair pack gives it a clear advantage in Sisoft Sandra's synthetic test. and, for what it's worth, we're a little surprised at how little extra bandwidth is reckoned to be available when going from DDR3-1,066 to DDR3-1,333. but that could well be down to latency.

| Corsair DDR3-1,600 CL8 6GB DOM | Crucial DDR3-1,066 CL7 6GB | Crucial DDR3-1,333 CL9 3GB |
| 30.08 | 36.24 | 36.34 |
High module clock-speeds and relatively low access time as a result, gives the Corsair DOMINATOR DDR3-1,600 pack another clear lead in the latency stakes.

| Corsair DDR3-1,600 CL8 6GB DOM | Crucial DDR3-1,066 CL7 6GB | Crucial DDR3-1,333 CL9 3GB |
| 27.44 | 27.78 | 27.66 |
But pragmatic benchmarking shows that there is very little difference in HEXUS.PiFast results irrespective of memory used.
