I was quite amazed when I plugged the LCD into my computer. Immediately Windows 2000 Advanced Server flagged up a message saying "New Hardware Found: MO USB LCD MX2xx" (I also tested the LCD on Windows XP). Last year I had a mess around with a Seiko Parallel LCD. From what I can remember it was never as simple as just plugging in 1 USB cable and installing the drivers/software.

After following all the procedures to install the driver for the LCD I was then prompted to install another driver for a USB serial port. All the necessary drivers can be found on the Matrix Orbital MX eCD included within the kit. The latest driver and software releases can be found on the Matrix Orbital website.

You then need to install the licensed LCDC software. Once the drivers and LCDC is fully installed then you are ready to play. Running the software for the first time you are prompted with a message asking if you wish to let the software auto detect the LCD. This checks the available COM ports to see which port the LCD is connected to. In my case this was COM3.

Now your ready to play with the screens and different options within LCDC...
