Colour uniformity
We might expect uniformity to be suspect on a VA panel of this size, however the above chart demonstrates surprisingly good consistency at default brightness levels.
Luminance uniformity
Luminance uniformity is decent, too, with Philips just about managing to keep within our preferred maximum of 10 per cent. The benchmarks paint a positive picture, however there is some backlight bleed, with our review unit exhibiting noticeable glow toward the corners.
A panel as big and bright as this isn't going to be the most frugal, yet 139 watts is an improvement over Philips' 43in predecessor.
