Uniformity and Efficiency
Colour uniformity
A variance of less than five can be deemed acceptable when it comes to colour uniformity, and much like the Philips, we're impressed to see Asus's plus-sized screen managing to maintain good consistency across the entire panel.
Luminance uniformity
But while colour consistency is good, luminance uniformity leaves room for improvement. We're typically looking for a score of less than 10, but the ROG Strix shows a variance of almost 20 per cent in the bottom left and right corners.
Power consumption can be a genuine concern with large panels touting HDR credentials, but given the screen size, we're pleased to see that the ROG Strix XG49VQ isn't particularly thirsty.
