DisplayHDR 400 certification is the equivalent of a 720p HD TV - it has the branding, but don't expect a proper HDR experience. On the other hand, it does has the knock-on benefit of making SDR content brighter and more accurate. The Philips 499P9H manages to deliver brightness in excess of 400 nits, however black levels and contrast are merely average.
