Benchmarks III

Pifast is a CPU bandwidth, CPU speed and memory bandwidth based test. We should see a similar type of graph to the LAME graph.

Pifast performance

It's a simple customised run of Pifast calculating Pi to 10 million decimal places in the fast way possible. Nearly an identical style of graph to the LAME one above due to the limiting factors in each test being the same. More decent performance from the MSI.

SETI is all about CPU performance and the performance of the memory controller. Athlon XP is a great SETI processor so expect to see the MSI do really well, even with the disadvantage in the processor department.

Pifast performance

XP2700+ would bring the MSI alongside the Asus, nothing much more to say. Performance from nForce2 is as expected.

Lastly we have DivX 4.12 encoding performance from a ~1.7MBit/sec encode of the first VOB from Gone In 60 Seconds. Can the XP2400+ and nForce2 encode PAL video using DivX 4.12 faster than realtime?

Pifast performance

Just over the magical 25fps for PAL video and the XP2400+ and nForce2 on the MSI scrapes by. Of course with a comparable processor it would show A7N8X-like performance.
