Benchmarks II

UT2003 wraps up our game based benchmark coverage before we move on to more system based tests to check CPU and memory bandwith performance.

Botmatch is CPU limited so lets look at that first.

UT2003 Botmatch performance

Nothing much more to comment on than the obvious CPU scaling and that the MSI is letting the XP2400+ and 9700 Pro work well.

Flyby is more a stress of graphics card performance so we should see the MSI and XP2400+ do well.

UT2003 Flyby performance

The graph perspective is a little misleading, overall the position of the board based on the host processor is unchanged. Popping an XP2700+ in would even things out as expected.

Let's shift on to one of our media tests before starting a fresh page to finish things off. LAME MP3 encoding is almost entirely bound by the speed of the host processor and it's bandwidth to a competent northbridge. So don't expect miracles from the XP2400+ in the MSI, just CPU scaling compared to the Asus and it's beefier host CPU.

Nothing we weren't expecting. Fine CPU scaling and a nice figure from the MSI.
