Benchmarks III
On to UT2003 demo's inbuilt benchmark. It covers 2 flybys and 2 bot matches. An average is taken for each section. Run at 800x600. First the flyby average.
And the more CPU-intensive bot matches.
Even though it's clocked a little higher than the rest, the VIA P4B Ultra does put in a commendable performance. You'd be hard pushed to tell the difference visually, though.
Finishing off, as always, with Quake 3's FPS drag race. Run at 512 Fastest for a test of pure usable bandwidth.
You could almost substitute the VIA P4X400, Intel i845PE and SiS648 chipsets for one another here. Testing with the VIA 4.43 4-in-1s gave us a score of 373 FPS, the 4.45s seem to resolve some OpenGL issues.
