Benchmarks II

Ā

The XP / EPoX combination has proved strong thus far, let's see how it does in gaming. 3DMark 2001SE run at its default resolution of 1024x768x32.

Our comparison Pentium 4, running at 2.53GHz and sporting DDR333 memory support, just about takes top honours here. It's nice to see the 330+ mark increase by simply changing the CPU's FSB to 166FSB. I'd wager anyone to tell the difference between these 3 tests on a purely visual basis.

On to the system-taxing Valley of the Jaguar timedemo in the demo version of the popular Serious Sam 2 game. Run at 1024x768x32 Normal settings.

Another close set of results with the P4 just shading it. Watching the demo, both platforms appeared smooth whilst running the demo.

Now Comanche 4. A feature-filled helicopter simulation that relies on pure CPU grunt allied with decent bandwidth. Run at 1024x768x32. Sound is naturally disabled.

Almost identical performance exhibited by our platforms.
