Benchmarks III
On to UT2003 demo's inbuilt benchmark. It covers 2 flybys and 2 bot matches. An average is taken for each section. Run at 800x600. First the flyby average.
A slight change in positions as the MSI motherboard takes second place behind the consistent performance leader. Now the more CPU-limited bot matches.
Can you tell the difference between 68 and 71 FPS respectively ?. I can't, and I sat through each and every one. Quake 3 fastest rounds off the benchmarks. The numbers may be amazingly high, but it's still a great test of pure system speed and banwidth.
With the next iteration of processors, coupled with faster and faster memory, we'll see the 500 FPS barrier collapse in the face of technology.
