BIOS

MSI have been using the flexible AMIBIOS for some time now. Let's see if there's anything new to this particular variant.

The first aspect that I want to draw your attention to is the support for HyperThreading CPUs. You have to have support on both a motherboard and CPU level before it will work correctly. Our test 2.8GHz CPU doesn't have HT enabled, though.

For the first time that I can remember, MSI have a locked AGP / PCI option on an Intel-based motherboard. You can go further and stipulate various AGP / PCI clocks of your choosing. CPU Vcore, for our test CPU, goes up to a reasonable 1.825v. DDR Voltgae can be changed from 2.5v - 2.8v in 0.1v increments. Finally, AGP Voltage sees 1.5 - 1.8v options. I would like it if you could manually key in your required FSB. You have to manually go up/down in 1MHz increments. You can take the motherboard all the way up to 249 FSB, though

Most of the features on offer can be toggled from BIOS.

DRAM frequency can be set to DDR200/DDR266/DDR333. The timings shown are the strictest possible. These were used during testing. The BIOS is surprisingly good considering that MSI have traditionally been conservative in their options.
