Benchmarks IV
Moving swiftly on to Comanche 4, another benchmark that really hurts the whole system. Run at 1024x768x32.
You've probably guessed by now that relative memory speed does indeed provide a good basis for predicting performance. Faster memory has thus far translated into faster performance, almost on a linear scale.
We'll wrap-up the benchmarking analysis with a visit to Quake3. I'm only benchmarking 512 Fastest, why ?, because it gives us an excellent indication into system throughput. The low resolution negates any adverse effects a mid-range graphics card might have on the results.
The numbers may be huge, but they do tell us just how well a system scales with differing speeds of memory. I think what we can draw from here is that the SiS648, when paired with super-fast DDR400 memory, has no current peer in the DDR ranks at least.
