LAME, Pifast, SETI

We'll lump them all together on one page this time around to save some space since you can pretty much guess what all the results are going to be like.

LAME is massively CPU limited with no real need for memory bandwidth so, just like Comanche 4, performance here is going to be similar across the board as far as the P4 boards go. The XP2200 should beat 2.4B here.

The EPoX retains its 1 second lead over the other 2 i845G's and it ties the MSI for the P4 win. XP2200 shows the 2.4B how its done here with it's class leading FPU unit.

Onto Pifast and it's all about the CPU again with a little bit of memory bandwidth needed for good performance

It's slower than the EPoX here but not that you'd care given the margin of loss. It's the same no matter what the graph tells you :P

We knew what we were expecting with Pifast so lets take a look at another strangely inaccurate SETI graph.

It bunches up with the EPoX and MSI here with ~192 minute performance from the BG7. It's nice to see just how the 2.4B and XP2200 are nearly identical as far as SETI performance goes on stock clocked systems.

You can't infer much from these graphs but onto the performance conclusion at any rate.
