While the 3930K chip shows clear gains in the CPU-centric tests, pulling out huge leads, the extra cores don't help in gaming. The motherboard can do little to influence performance here, and Intel chips remain the better choice for gaming.
The Sabertooth board's power-saving technologies come to the fore in these idle test. Turn them all off and the system draws 99W on the Windows desktop screen.
Under-load power-draw is also decent for such as fast chip.
