Gaming performance
Gaming evaluation takes on an SLI twist. The Fat. AN8 SLI was run with 2 GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB cards, clocked in at 400MHz core and 1100MHz memory, in SLI mode. Further, it was run with a single ATI RADEON X850 XT PE, too see just how single-card performance compared with an SLI'd setup.Pretty much identical to the EPoX nForce4 SLI board when testing across differing resolutions in 3DMark05. Note how far both S939 boards are ahead of MSI's nForce4 SLI Intel Edition board that runs with a Pentium 4 660 CPU.
The same is true in DOOM 3 and Far Cry, as well. SLI'd 'Ultras tend to be somewhat CPU-limited even at 1600x1200x32.
