Benchmarks: Power Draw and Battery Life
Power consumption is right where we'd expect it to be given the nature of the N550JK's underlying components. Trouble is, the integrated four-cell battery doesn't last long and the laptop only just managed to make it past the four-hour mark in our video rundown test.
The test involves looping a 720p video clip with all wireless radios disabled and screen brightness set to 50 per cent, and a sub-five-hour return is short of our expectations. There's enough juice to watch a movie, maybe two, but you'll always struggle to make it through a full day's work without reaching for the charger.
