Benchmarks: CPU
There isn't a great deal separating the various Core i7 laptops in the single-threaded PiFast benchmark, but it's the multi-threaded Cinebench and HandBrake tests that tend to serve up interesting results.
Gigabyte's P37X and PC Specialist's Defiance are both outfitted with a Core i7-4720HQ chip, but the former falls off the pace in the demanding HandBrake examination. The reason for this is that the PC Specialist is able to run at 3.3GHz throughout the entirety of the test, while the Gigabyte is quick to throttle back to 3.1GHz in order to minimise heat build-up.
