Gaming performance was always going to be good, helped by the GeForce 9600M GT 512MB card. The notebook returned an average framerate of 57.1fps at 1,680x1,050 - the display's native resolution.

Not shown on the graph but taxing it further, we ran Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at 1,680x1,050 medium-quality settings and it was generally playable, returning an average of 32.5fps.

A medium-sized battery and some wattage-hungry components don't make for great battery life, as borne out by the results above. We'd recommend readers go for the optional 9-cell battery (£47.60 upgrade at the time of purchase) if mobile longevity is essential.
