Benchmarks: System
Futuremark's synthetic system tests provide some interesting insight. The standard PCMark 10 benchmark focuses on quick completion of everyday tasks, and in these scenarios CPU IPC and SSD performance can be pivotal, hence the Swift 3 slotting in near the bottom of the chart.
PCMark 10 Extended is a different proposition entirely as it factors light gaming into the equation. Bringing the GPU into play sees the Ryzen-equipped Swift 3 climb right to the top of the ladder. Vega 8's superiority over the Intel IGPs is further reinforced by 3DMark Sky Diver, with the AMD chip making this the first IGP-driven laptop to break the 7,000-mark barrier.
GPU performance is a sizeable step up from Intel UHD 620 (Acer Spin 5), but not a giant leap from Intel Iris Plus 640 (Microsoft Surface Pro), so what does this mean in terms of playing real-world games?
