Benchmarks: Vitals and Battery Life
The power consumption and temperature numbers tell only part of the tale. While our Surface Book 2 review sample settled at around 66ºC and 28W during video encoding, it initially consumed 41W but quickly dialled down frequency once temperature hit 90ºC after a few minutes of maximum load.
Battery life, meanwhile, speaks for itself. Our standard test entails looping a high-definition video clip until the laptop enters standby, and Surface Book 2 managed to keep going for just over 15 hours, putting it top of the chart.
