What kind of gaming performance can the GeForce GTX 1060 provide? 3DMark Fire Strike puts the Aero 14 slap-bang between the GTX 980M-powered P35X v5 and the GTX 1070-powered P35X v6.
Before we move on to games, we've run all the other relevant 3DMark tests and the Aero 14 shows excellent consistency in the Time Spy Stress Test, while a score of over 5,000 in VRMark Orange Room suggests enough power to drive current VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift.
There's clearly game-playing potential on offer, though even at Ā£1,800, there are limitations. Getting in excess of 60 frames per second is achievable in most modern titles if you knock the resolution down to full-HD. It isn't quite so easy at the native QHD, and though the laptop manages to keep comfortably ahead of the 30fps minimum, you may find you'll need to drop quality settings in order to get silky-smooth action at the highest available resolution.
