Last up is the Doom 3 - With an expansion pack (not to mention Quake 4) on the horizon, the Doom 3 engine is destined to remain popular throughout 2005 and most likely beyond. We tested here using a custom timedemo in the games High Quality mode.

Another win for Gigabyte's offering here, pushing out higher performance than a GeForce 6800GT at higher resolutions.
Doom 3 - 4xAA 8xAF

The 3D1 and 6800GT trade blows with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering switched on, with almost equal performance leaving it almost too close to call. At 1600x1200, the 6800GT ekes out a few FPS advantage, while the 3D1 holds the upper hand at 1024x768.
