Yet adding a dollop of frequency over the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition card means there isn't much else to play with. We only managed to increase the core speed by 25MHz, to a boost of 2,060MHz. Memory, meanwhile, scaled from 8.5GHz to 9.4GHz.
Hmm, not a lot to gain from overclocking. This GPU is more shader-bound than limited by memory bandwidth.
Even running full chat and with memory at the highest speeds we've ever seen from GDDR5, the GTX 1070 is not able to close the gap to the GTX 1080 FE.
