Both the 8600GT and GTS fail to best the score of the 7600GT they replaced, let alone get close to the 7900GS.

The AMD HD 2600 XT is able to get within 2FPS of the 8600GT at 1600x1200, despite AMD's normally sub-par OpenGL performance.
